 Autocrossing

Nashville Corvette Club

The first autocross of  southeast region was at Twin Fountains Park in Shelbyville TN. The most recent autocross was held at the New National Corvette Museum Motor Sports park Track in Bowling Green KY

What is Autocrossing?

Well, there is low-speed and high-speed autocrossing. It is a timed event, usually precision driving around cones to try and get the best time from start to finish! It's a fun, safe environment to get all you can out of a Corvette, and test your driving skills too!

1SM record winner Lynn Ryder

Congratulations to Lynn Ryder, setting the 1SM record at Putnam Park  Lynn broke the 1SM record in his Corvette Z06. Putnam Park is a high-speed road course in Indiana. The Corvette Club attends the autocross annually and racers get better every year!

Alysia Hardy at our Autocross.

Each year members of the Nashville Corvette Club attend various autocrosses. Some are local while others are in the Southeast Region of NCCC. Why do we autocross our Corvettes? Well, for starters it's fun! Getting on a low-speed course or on a high-speed road course will teach you things about your Corvette you never imagined. The Corvette is built for autocrossing in a precision driving event, so why not give it a try, you may just get hooked. Ask some of our "newbie autocrossers," they'll tell you some amazing stories of their adventures!

Don Hoffmeister, our club competition chair, would love to see some new faces and Corvettes at an autocross event. He may even give you a pointer or two. If you really want to learn how to autocross, Mike will help you.
